Did you remember the clocks went forward?

Yes, you’ve lost an hour of sleep – but you’ll get brighter evenings from now on in.

CHECK YOUR WATCHES (or more likely, smartphones) folks, because the clocks have gone forward.

‘Summer time’ began at 1am Greenwich Mean Time this morning, meaning that although we lost an hour from 12am – 1am, we have brighter evenings to look forward to.

Let’s face it – we could all do with a bit of a boost after the dismal start to the Spring.

The Minister for Justice, Equality and Defence, Alan Shatter TD summed up the mood of the nation when he said:

Unfortunately many feel after the weather of recent weeks that Spring has passed us by. While none of us can control the weather, I hope that the change in time will usher in better and warmer weather for the second quarter of 2013.

We’re crossing our fingers for a better run of it from now on in.
