CMAT ‘devastated’ as 16 tour dates postponed due to an infected tooth

She won’t be performing for the next few weeks while she recovers.

CMAT HAS BEEN forced to postpone her highly anticipated UK tour after developing an infected wisdom tooth.

The singer-songwriter (real name Ciara Mary‑Alice Thompson) was due to kick off her 20-date tour in London this October following the release of her critically acclaimed third album, EURO-COUNTRY.

Taking to Instagram to update fans, the 29-year-old expressed her devastation over the postponement.

She revealed that she woke up with severe jaw pain and sought an emergency dental appointment, with surgery scheduled for next week.

Recovery is expected to take around two weeks, during which she has been prescribed antibiotics.

“I currently can’t even open my mouth wide enough to laugh, let alone sing,” CMAT wrote, alongside a photo of her swollen cheek.

She also joked about her limited diet, asking fans for ice cream and soup recommendations as she navigates the recovery period.

The singer apologised for the disruption and assured fans that tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates.

The affected tour dates include shows in London, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, and Glasgow, while four dates in Edinburgh, Brighton and Hove, and Stretford scheduled for next March are set to go ahead as planned.

CMAT also has upcoming European and international tour dates in countries including Australia, Germany, Italy, France, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands.

To add to this, the singer is gearing up for her biggest Irish headline shows yet, with a sold-out performance at Dublin’s St. Anne’s Park on 30 May.

Tickets remain for her Cork show at Virgin Media Park on 20 June, while her 3Arena Dublin show on 5 December, along with two solo-acoustic shows at Spindizzy Records on 4 December, are completely sold out.

The postponements come after a milestone year for CMAT, which saw EURO-COUNTRY debut at number two in the UK and top the album charts at home.

She also performed to widespread acclaim on Glastonbury’s main stage in June, as well as Waterford’s All Together Now festival in August.

CMAT first gained attention with her debut album (If My Wife New I’d Be Dead) in 2022, followed by her Mercury Prize-nominated 2023 release, Crazymad, For Me.
