Price comparison: What can I buy in Co Waterford for under €600,000?

From a four-bed in Coolgower to a four-bed on Dunmore Road.

GETTING OUR HEADS around an ever-changing property market when we’re trying to buy a house can be daunting. That’s why, each week, we zone in on a collection of houses in one area to see what the market is like at a certain time.

From a four-bed in Coolgower to a four-bed on Dunmore Road, here’s what a budget of €600,000 will get you in Co Waterford.

Four-bed, detached, Coolgower – €535,000 

Coolgower House sits between Tramore and Waterford city on a 1.5 acre site. This spacious family 238 m² home that’s ideally located with the city as well as the seaside both just short drives away.  The grounds surrounding the house have an orchard, a detached garage and a large workshop. There’s also a pretty patio area and fire pit for entertaining late into the evenings.

Four-bed, detached, Dunmore Road – €525,000

20 Grange Cove is a large 176 m² home that’s ready to walk into and sits on a peaceful cul-de-sac in a family-friendly development. Inside comprises a hallway that leads to the sitting room with an adjoining sunroom, and then another living room. The kitchen is roomy and bright and incorporates a dining space.  Upstairs is a light-filled landing that leads to four bedrooms, the main with an en suite, along with a shared bathroom. 

The garden at number 20 has the added benefit of facing south and it isn’t overlooked by any neighbours. Seven-bed, detached, Tramore – €585,000

With seven bedrooms and spanning a generous 191 m², Saint Anne’s might be considered best bang for your buck of the lot. A detached 1930s bungalow that even has a detached garage, the house sits on about .42 acres and is close to Tramore town. And while the inside may need some updating, you won’t be complaining of lack of space. Rooms comprise a sitting room and kitchen with dining space along with two bathroom.

And if seven rooms is too many, there’s surely potential to create more social spaces or a home office. Everythinf from schools to shops are within easy walking distance, as is the beach and the Doneraile Walk and golf and tennis clubs for some fresh air.
