Each week, we take an Insta-worthy room in Ireland and show you how you can get the look yourself with high street buys.
This week, Sarah Murphy’s (@colourfulsaz) recently re-done bedroom in Dublin was our inspiration.
“I got my colour palette from the interior design guru that is Adele Roche,” says Sarah. “She does an online consultation service and this determined my colours and the overall style of the room I wanted to achieve. I also took inspiration from Pinterest looking at various pins to find the perfect calm combination.”
As part of the transformation, Sarah painted her wardrobes and added a mural to one wall. “Quality paint can really help in achieving a designer look on a budget,” she says.
Ikea and H&M Home were Sarah’s main port of call when fitting out her bedroom. Below are six high-street products that’ll help you get this look in your own home…
1. Rattan light shade, €38.99, Littlewoods Ireland
Rattan is one of the year’s biggest trends and this lampshade, like Sarah’s, is the perfect nod to it.
2. Woven basket, €25.99, Zara Home
A woven basket is ideal for storing blankets, pillows or even laundry.
3. Flat woven rug, €25, Ikea
This flat woven rug with a palm print nails two trends at once.
4. Vase with face, €19.50, Next
No room is complete without a cute vase.
5. Copper storage basket, €7.99, H&M
Sarah painted her dressing table rose gold but, for a quicker result, add rose gold accessories – like this storage basket.
6. Pink table, €35, EZ Living Interiors
A pop of pink ties the room together. Use this as a side table, or as a plant stand, as Sarah has done.
