Name: Noeleen McMahon (@sew_noeleen)
Age: 53
Occupation: Florist
Who lives in the house with you? My husband, Paul, my youngest daughter Olivia (21) and our two dogs, Penny and Coco.
Where is it? Dublin
What type of house? A mid 1970s semi-detached house
How many bedrooms and bathrooms? Three bedrooms, three bathrooms
When did you move in? 2002
It was all about the location. I loved that the house was in a quiet cul-de-sac, but that we had St Anne’s Park right around the corner. It’s on the Dublin coastline which was also a plus.
I really love our kitchen/living area as it’s so open and bright. I have a little creativity corner in this room as well for for my art and sewing, and I’ll happily spend all afternoon here with the sun beaming in through the windows and country music playing.
If we could, we’d add more space upstairs, as the three bedrooms are quite small without a lot of storage space.
I would say the kitchen is the space that really makes this home our own. Firstly, there’s a gallery wall, which is definitely unique as 90% of the paintings were made by me! And second, there’s the creative corner tucked away in there also.
I start my day around 7am: At the moment because of the pandemic we are all at home. After breakfast, Paul and I bring our two dogs up to the park for a run, then it’s home for the afternoon. I usually make myself busy by either painting or sewing in the kitchen – whatever I feel like, especially now cause we have plenty of time!
You’ll usually find me in the TV room: We start winding down after dinner. In the evenings I’ll watch some Netflix on TV or browse on my iPad.
I’d upgrade the creativity corner to an art room all of its own!
