4 of a kind

4 of a kind: Cosy homes with lots of potential that are all under 85 m²

From a cosy Galway getaway to a three-bed in Kerry.

EVEN IF, ON first look, a home seems like it won’t suit your needs, a little bit of imagination and further research might reveal that it’s just what you’ve been looking for.

This week, we’ve picked four homes that are all under 85 m² and have potential for renovating, or even extending, to create your dream home. From a two-bed detached in Galway to a three-bed in Kerry, each one has bags of potential.

Blackrock, Co Cork – €290,000

7 Dundanion Terrace is a 78 m² home with two bedrooms that sits just outside Cork city on Blackrock Road. The room inside, from the large reception room, kitchen and dining area to the bedrooms upstairs along with the main bathroom, may need updating but the potential is clear, There’s also a large attic space for added storage. And for a home that’s in such close proximity to the city centre, off-street parking is a plus.

Close to the city but with its own sense of community, Blackrock village has plenty of schools, shopping and transport links to the city centre making it a very family-friendly option.

 Abbeydorney, Co Kerry – €235,000

Coming in at 81 m², Dromcunnig is the largest of our picks this week. This three-bedder is a detached bungalow that sits between Tralee and Abbeydorney. The house is in great nick ready for a new owner to add their own taste.  Oil fired central heating, double glazed windows keep things cosy while a large detached garage and about a half an acre of land leaves lots of room to extend or renovate. The rooms all share the same floor and consist of a hallway that leads to the living room, kitchen and family bathroom and then the bedrooms.

For a nice mix of country and town like, the house is only  from Abbeydorney village is 1.9km away while Tralee is 7.2km making it accessible in 10 minutes by car.
