Woman dies after two-car collision in Monaghan

A man was also injured in the crash.

A WOMAN HAS died following a two-car collision in Monaghan this morning.

The crash happened on the Clones Road in Aghalisk, at around 7.50am this morning.

The woman, aged in her mid-50s, was fatally injured. Her body has been removed to Cavan General Hospital.

The driver of the other car, a man also in his mid-50s, was taken to hospital, although his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road is closed while gardaí carry out a forensic examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Monaghan Garda Station on 047 77200, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

    @Eoin Roche: What has that got to do with anything, most of the time you hear jobs being from created in Dublin but I personally think they need to start creating more jobs outside the capital, whats the point of loads of jobs in Dublin if there is nowhere for people to live.
