The man was restrained by gardaí after he allegedly became violent towards a female garda.

A MAN WAS arrested outside the Dáil yesterday afternoon in a scuffle with gardaí in what is believed to have been a disagreement over Minister for Justice Alan Shatter.

The man was restrained by gardaí after he allegedly became violent towards a female garda when she asked him to tone down some explicit language aimed at Minister Shatter.

The man is understood to have been shouting but became more irate when Minister for Communications Pat Rabbitte walked by.

A photographer for the Photocall photo agency who was at the scene, says that the man was restrained by two female gardaí with the help help of a builder on Kildare Street.
