One dead after car crashes into father and daughter in van

The father and daughter survived the incident without injury.

A MAN HAS been killed after the car he was travelling in crashed into a van in Limerick.

It is understood the car was driving on the wrong side of the road.

This happened shortly before 8pm this evening on Hyde Road in Limerick City.

A man, believed to be in his 20s, was killed in the crash. Another occupant of the car, also a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital.

A 40-year-old father and his five-year-old daughter travelling in the van avoided serious injury.

Any witnesses are being asked to contact gardai.
