Open Thread: What is your dream holiday destination?

You’re already in the American dream.

ACCORDING TO A new survey, Ireland is in the top three dream destinations for Americans.

TripAdvisor came up with its results after asking 10,000 US residents about their holiday wishlists, as well as looking at worldwide travel patterns and booking habits.

Joining Ireland in the top three were Australia and Italy.

That’s certainly good news for us as tourism is an undeniably important sector for economic recovery.

But as a traveller, what do you think of that list? Would you go for something more exotic than Connemara in the winter?
