Driver in disabled bay said he'd move when he was 'ready'. His car was then seized for no insurance

A court appearance is set to follow for the driver in Waterford.

GARDAÍ IN WATERFORD have seized a car for having no insurance, after spotting the motorist parked in a disabled spot.

The driver said he would move the car when he was “ready”, gardaí said.

A court appearance is now set to follow.

Separately, gardaí in the Kilkenny-Carlow division arrested 27 people today after searching a number of premises as part of Operation Thor.

Two vehicles were also seized as 10 premises were searched in all.

The people were arrested for a range of offences, including theft, assault, fraud, burglary, drugs offences and on warrants.

The purpose of the operation was to prevent crime, disrupt criminal activity, apprehend criminals and to enhance community engagement, gardaí said.
