Fresh arrest over murders of two Coolock men

The bodies of Dubliners Eoin O’Connor and Anthony Keegan were found on the Meath/Cavan border more than a month after they had gone missing.

A MAN IN is 50s has been arrested for questioning over the murder of two Dublin men whose who were found dead at a lake on the Cavan/Meath border back in May.

The bodies of Eoin O’Connor and Anthony Keegan, from Coolock, were found on a small island in Lough Sheelin more than a month after they had gone missing.

A major search operation was launched after their families raised concerns about their safety.

Gardaí have tonight confirmed the arrest of a man in Meath area.

He was detained in the Meath area this morning, and is being held at Kells Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

It’s the third arrest in connection with the investigation.

Two men — aged in their 20s and 30s — were questioned by gardaí after being arrested in Cavan back in June.

It’s believed the two friends’ disappearance and killing may have been connected to a major crime gang and the recovery of a drug debt.
