GETTING A HANDLE on the fast-changing property market is tricky, but we’re here to make things a bit easier.
Each week, we find a number of homes within a similar budget, to give you a snapshot of the property landscape at a particular price point.
This week, we’re looking at properties around Dublin city and county with an asking price of €550,000 and under.
Tobersool Lane is a 150 m² home that stands on just under an acre site. The house has extension potential, while the shed on site could be renovated. The rooms inside include a hallway that links to the sitting room and then a dining room that has doors to the garden. The kitchen has a utility room off it that also steps out to the garden.
Each of the four bedrooms are doubles and the main bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The house sits between Stamullen and Balbriggan and is close to schools at all levels, plenty of sports facilities and shops. There is a regular bus service from Stamullen or Balbriggan and Gormanstown and Balbriggan train station is a five minute drive away.
Renovated in 2015, this 71 m² house in Dublin 6 is in great nick and comprises an open plan living, dining and kitchen space that benefits from large sliding doors to the back. A large sky light makes the most of the home’s south facing orientation and floods the ground floor with natural light. A utility room and guest toilet complete the ground floor.
The two bedrooms upstairs are both doubles and they share the family bathroom. The back garden gets good sunshine and was landscaped in 2019. There is also a garden and parking to the front of the house. With everything Harold’s Cross and the south side of the city on its doorstep, this is a great option for anyone looking to live close to the centre without sacrificing too much space.
Nicely-sized for a two-bed, 8 The Avenue has a floor area of 92 m² and is located in north Dublin. Finished well and in good nick, the ground floor includes a large living room, a kitchen and a guest bathroom. The spaces are bright, particularly the kitchen as the patio doors are south facing.
Both of the bedrooms are doubles and one has its own bathroom, leaving the other bathroom to the other. The private garden at the back can be accessed from the side of the house, while there is room for two cars at the front. TU Dublin Campus, Lady’s Well Park and Tolka Valley Park along with schools of both levels, all sit close by ensuring a great home for a small family.
11 Airpark Avenue on the south side of Dublin is in great condition thanks to remodelling and extending over the years. The rooms on the ground floor consist of a large and bright open plan kitchen with dining room and a large living room with a gas fire. The space is flooded with light due to its double aspect.
Upstairs there are a three bedrooms. The main bedroom has its own bathroom while the remaining share the big family bathroom. The attic is prime for conversion and partly floored. With Rathfarnham village just a stroll away, the next owner will have their pick of schools, shops and sporting facilities with Dublin city centre easily accessible by car or public transport, too.
