Dinner for the Elderly

These elderly people got an early Christmas dinner this year

The group Friends of the Elderly Ireland help isolated older people connect to communities through their volunteer services and events.

THERE WAS ROAST turkey and wine had at this Christmas Dinner at the Friends for the Elderly head quarters at 25 Bolton Street, Dublin 1.

The group helps around 500 older people living in isolation connect with others in the community, including weekly visitations by volunteer staff.

A series of Christmas dinners were held this week and we asked attendees what they thought about it.

“It’s amazing the way it feels when somebody is so good you,” said one of the guests Dolorous. “It means an awful lot.”
