Labour Councillor Eric Byrne is one of three candidates being run by the party in Dublin South-Central. A carpenter by trade, Byrne has been a public representative since 1985. He has been elected on two previous occasions by the people of Dublin South-Central, as a candidate for the Workers' Party in 1989 and for Democratic Left in a 1994 by-election. He currently sits on Dublin City Council.
