Councillor Mannix Flynn is running as an independent candidate for Dublin South-East. In the 2009 local elections, he was elected as an independent councillor for the South East Inner City ward with almost 15 per cent of first-preference votes. Flynn is an author, playwright and actor who has previously published accounts of his experiences as a child in Letterfrack Industrial School.
