THE GOVERNMENT HAS no plans to change its guidance on remote working in response to the energy crisis, Tánaiste Simon Harris has said.
Although Harris acknowledged that the current situation is challenging, he noted that it does not warrant the same response as the Covid-19 pandemic.
He added that many people are already changing their behaviour and travel schedules due to rising fuel costs.
“We’re not intending to change the work-from-home rules and structures that are in place. I think employers generally exercise a fair degree of common sense here.
“Companies and the public services have to make sure that they can continue to run and continue to operate, whilst also respecting that work from home is an important proposition that’s been built up in this country now over quite a number of years,” said Harris, adding that he is satisfied with the current arrangements in place.
