Should news reports bleep out expletives?

The US President used explicit language with reporters at the White House yesterday.

YESTERDAY, DONALD TRUMP criticised both Iran and Israel for violating a ceasefire deal, saying that the two states “don’t know what the fuck they’re doing”.

His use of explicit language highlighted the varying editorial approaches among news outlets when it comes to handling profanity. Some outlets censored the expletive – either by bleeping the audio or using an asterisk in articles – while others chose to present the footage unedited.

BBC News aired the uncensored clip last night, with a reporter explaining that it showed “the extent of the president’s frustration”.

So, today we’re asking you: Should news reports bleep out expletives?
