FACEBOOK APPEARS TO be back up and running after its third bout of downtime this evening in two weeks.

Anyone attempting to access the site was greeted with this:

That is if the page loaded at all. Some users saw just two words – “service unavailable”.

It was also unavailable on mobile platforms.

This was been the longest outage in recent weeks. Usually they last no more than half an hour, but it took more than hour for some users to report that the site is working again.

Facebook seems to be back up and running now, but it was all too much for some people.
