Man in his 40s dies in two-car crash in Co Kerry

The driver of the other car, a man in his 30s, was taken to University Hospital Kerry for treatment.

A MAN IN his 40s died in a two-car collision in Co Kerry yesterday evening. 

The crash occurred at around 6:40pm on the N22 near Dromadeesirt and gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The driver of one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the local mortuary, where a post-mortem will be carried out. 

The driver of the other car, a man in his 30s, was taken to University Hospital Kerry for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, a Garda spokesperson said. 

No other injuries were reported and the road was still closed as of 10:45pm last night and local diversions on the N22 were in place at both Scart Cross and Lawlors Cross.
