Four men charged in connection with serious assault in Castlebar last year

A man in his 20s was found unconscious following an alleged assault in August 2025.

FOUR MEN HAVE been charged in connection with a serious assault in Castlebar, Co Mayo last year. 

At around 2.50am on 23 August 2025, gardaí received a report of a man unconscious after an alleged assault outside a licensed premises on Tucker Street.

The injured man, aged in his 20s, was taken to Mayo University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Four men, three aged in their 20s and one in his late teens, have now been charged in connection with the incident. 

They were due to appear before Castlebar District Court this morning.

A garda spokesperson said investigations into the matter are ongoing.
