Gardaí investigating car found "nearby" hit-and-run location

A young boy was injured in the incident.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a car found near the location where a young boy was knocked down in a hit-and-run earlier this week.

The incident had occurred on Thomas Davis Street at around 9.50pm on Wednesday. Gardaí confirmed this morning that a car was found “nearby”.

Investigations are underway to see if this car is the one that was involved in the hit-and-run.

The boy was seriously injured in the incident and taken by ambulance to Mercy University Hospital.

The vehicle involved had failed to remain at the scene.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out on Wednesday night.
