What can I get in Ireland for... €500,000 or less?

From a rural Sligo bungalow to a bright three-bed in Kimmage.

IT CAN BE TRICKY to find that perfect home when you’re on a budget. That’s why each Friday, we round up a selection of homes at a certain price point, so you can get a sense of what’s out there for you.

This week, we’re taking a look at the upper end of the scale, at homes priced around the €500,000 mark.

Rosses Point, Co Sligo — €475,000

Built on a large site in the heart of Rosses Point village, Radharc na Rí is the picture of luxurious rural living. But with large beaches, a leisure centre and multiple shops nearby, it’s anything but isolated.

The grounds of the property feature well-kept mature gardens, as well as a detached garage and a private putting green for golf fans. Inside, solid wood flooring abounds, and there’s plenty of space for entertaining: the home even has its own games room.

Dunboyne, Co Meath — €495,000

Located on a quiet cul-de-sac in the Larchfield development, this home is an excellent purchase for commuters. It’s five minutes from here to Dunboyne train station, and another forty minutes will have you in Dublin city centre.

The property itself has been expertly extended, with a new living room added that makes a great family area. It’s home to an open fireplace and large bay windows, so it’s bright during the day and cosy by night. Outside, there’s a large walled garden area that requires little maintenance, and a garden shed.
