GETTING TO GRIPS with a fast-changing property market is tricky, but we’re here to make things simpler.
Each week, we’ll handpick four homes within a similar budget, to give you a snapshot of the property landscape at a particular price point.
This week, we’re looking at properties within commuting distance of Cork city centre, with an asking price of exactly €300,000 – from a four-bed in family-friendly Glanmire to a three-bed townhouse in Ballintemple.
A four-bed semi-detached house, 37 Copper Valley Heights is located in an ideal area for families. There’s a primary school and secondary school within walking distance, as well as sports clubs and a playground. Cork city is a 20-minute drive away.
Inside, No 37 features a large hallway, with a sitting room and picture bay window to the right. Double doors open to another living area, which features floor-to-ceiling windows and a door to the patio. An arch leads to the kitchen, with ample storage space in here. On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms, two single bedrooms, an en suite bathroom and a family bathroom.
Situated within walking distance of Carrigaline town, 2 Waterpark Lawn is a four-bed detached property of 1,227 sq ft. Ground floor accommodation comprises a living room, dining area, kitchen and bathroom. There are four double bedrooms on the first floor, with an en-suite bathroom extending from the master bedroom.
The family bathroom features a jacuzzi bath and corner shower, as well as porcelain tiled floors. To the rear of the property, there’s a large decking area for dining al fresco, a laundry room and a separate studio which is fully insulated and wired for electricity.
A three-bed detached bungalow, Rocklands enjoys a quiet location with views of the countryside. Inside, there’s a neat kitchen with tiled flooring, white cabinets and wooden worktops with a breakfast bar. The dining area can easily fit a table and six chairs, while double doors open to the patio.
To the rear of the property, the master bedroom comes complete with built-in wardrobes and timber flooring, plus an en suite bathroom. There’s a lawn area to the front and side of the property, with countryside views to the rear and opposite side. Douglas village is a 10-minute drive away, while the city centre can be reached within 20 minutes.
Located a 15-minute walk from Ballintemple village, 13 Cherrington is a three-bed townhouse in a quiet development of just 16 homes. It comes to the market in excellent condition, with solid wood floors in the living room and bedrooms. There are built-in cabinets in the kitchen and fitted wardrobes in two of the bedrooms.
To the rear, there’s a private garden that has the potential to be transformed into an attractive outdoor dining area and lawn. There’s off-street parking to the front, but with schools, sports clubs, bars and restaurants nearby, residents at No 13 will be able to walk to many everyday locations.
