THE HUMBLE CUL-DE-SAC is an underrated feature. If you have young kids at home, living on one of these curved, closed-off roads means you’ll have much more peace of mind when they’re running around outside – and it gives your home some extra privacy and tranquility too.
This week we’re looking at four family homes in quiet cul-de-sacs around the country – from a new build in Glasnevin to a home with sea views in Wicklow.
A new development of just six homes off Botanic Road in Glasnevin, Fairfield Court features two-bed bungalows and four-bed terraced homes. There are three of each type of property available, with prices starting at €595,000 for the former and €750,000 for the latter.
Each home is A-rated for energy efficiency and boasts a design that’s both timeless and modern. The four-bed homes are arranged over three levels, while the bungalows include a large attic space. All homes include a south-facing garden.
Tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac, 13 Bayview Grange is a three-bed semi-detached property with a turn-key interior. Thanks to its positioning on an elevated site, views of Wicklow harbour can be enjoyed from the south-east facing rear garden, where there are two patios.
Inside, you’ll find maple flooring, an open fireplace and a white Shaker-style kitchen. Each bedroom offers views of the coastline, while the master bedroom also has an en suite bathroom and built-in wardrobes. The heart of Wicklow town is a 20-minute walk away.
A three-bedroom property, 47 Oyster Bay is ideally located to enjoy beautiful views of Sligo Bay and Knocknarea mountain from the rear garden. The accommodation measures 1,224 sq ft, including a spacious sitting room with an open fireplace and a country-style kitchen/dining room with double doors to the rear garden.
On the first floor, there are three double bedrooms, two en suite bathrooms and a family bathroom. No 47 has a packed list of nearby amenities, including Rosses Point Beach, Sligo Yacht Club and Sligo Golf Club. Sligo town is a 10-minute drive away.
Located a 20-minute walk from the centre of Midleton, 23 The Cotswolds comes to the market ready for moving day. The three-bed semi-detached property boasts a charming and light-filled interior with many notable features including a multi-fuel stove, hand-painted kitchen and semi-solid wood flooring.
The kitchen is the heart of this home, with ample storage space and room for a dining table to seat six. French doors with bi-folding shutters open to the rear garden, which features a manicured lawn with mature shrubs and a sunny patio area.
