THE AVERAGE PRICE of a property in Howth is just over €615,000, according to the latest figures from Daft.ie.
Analysis across all properties listed for sale in the area between April and June 2018 puts the average list price at €615,871.
This is the highest figure anywhere on the Northside by some way – significantly above its nearest rival Clontarf (€545k), and €75k over the average in neighbouring Sutton (€540k).
It puts Howth on a par with some of the most storied of Southside neighbourhoods, including Killiney (average price €632k) and Ballsbridge (€631k).
Current prices pale in comparison to those commanded by Howth properties during the Celtic Tiger. In 2006, average prices in the area peaked at an eye-watering €929,167 – before dropping to €390,757 in 2012.
