THE RED CARPET has been rolled out this evening as stars begin to arrive for tonight’s Irish Film and Television Awards.
Nominations across the 29 categories in Film and Drama are well-staffed, and there’s a host of talent in attendance at tonight’s event in the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.
Culminating months of dedicated viewing and deliberation by Academy Members and expert juries, this year’s nominees reflect Ireland’s “unparalleled storytelling on the global stage”, according to organisers.
Jessie Buckley is up for Best Lead Actress in a Film for her highly acclaimed role in Hamnet, in which she starred alongside Paul Mescal.
Cillian Murphy is also nominated for best actor his titular role in last year’s drama film Steve. Also nominated for best actor is Steve Coogan, who played Mick McCarthy in Saipan.
