Man who dragged jogger into Boyne may have tried to attack second woman

The woman, out jogging near Drogheda, was grabbed and pulled into the river last Thursday morning.

GARDAÍ IN DROGHEDA have issued an appeal for information in relation to an attack that happened on the banks of the Boyne last week.

A woman out jogging was pulled into the water by a man who tried to take her clothes off last Thursday morning.

It’s now emerged that the same man may have approached a second woman, shortly before the incident took place.

“The injured party, on her way back to Drogheda, met another lady who she tells us was a Polish lady by the name of Margaret,” Garda Tara McGuinness told LMFM.

“When she spoke to her she said ‘oh yes he tried to attack me as well’.

This lady has yet to come forward so we really really need this lady — or if anyone knows who she is — to contact the gardaí in Drogheda because we really need to find this particular man.

The woman who was attacked was jogging between Drogheda and Oldbridge when she was approached by the man, at around 9am last Thursday.

Both ended up in the river after he grabbed her and attempted to remove her clothes. He then gave up and fled from the scene.

Drogheda Garda Station can be reached at (041) 987 4200.
