LEAVING CERT STUDENTS across the country received those envelopes today that contained their hard-earned results.
Some were delighted, like Mark Berney from Gorey Community College, County Wexford who got 9 A1s, others not so much.
The Minister for Education Ruairí Quinn turned up at Ringsend College to present students with their marks.
Results showed that there has been a sharp increase of almost 5,000 in the number of candidates sitting the higher level maths paper, while Quinn said he “didn’t have enough information at the moment” to explain the fall in the overall number of students sitting the exam this year.
Students now anxiously await round one of the CAO offers which are out Monday, August 19.
