Transdev technicians investigating outage on the Luas Green Line RollingNews.ie

Luas Green Line to remain out of service until after 'evening peak commuter period'

Luas tickets are being accepted on Dublin Bus for the duration of the outage.

LAST UPDATE | 2 hrs ago

THE LUAS GREEN line is still out of service and its operator Transdev has said it does not expect a full service to resume until after the “evening peak commuter period”.

The significant disruption started this morning after a power outage brought parts of both the Green and Red Lines to a halt.

The Red Line, which was out of action between Smithfield and The Point Connolly for several hours this morning, is now fully operational.

However, the full Green Line remains completely closed, with no services operating between Broombridge and Brides Glen.

Luas tickets are being accepted on Dublin Bus services during this time.

In an update this evening at around 5pm, Transdev said the service disruption has been caused by a power fault but that it is “not in a position to confirm the cause”.

A spokesperson said multiple Luas technicians are on site and “working systematically along the Green Line to identify the source of the fault”.

Real time information is available on the Luas website and its social media channels.

The spokesperson added that Luas is “committed to providing the public and the media with an explanation of the cause of the current power outage” and that this will be shared once the power has been fully restored and maintenance teams have completed their analysis.

Transdev meanwhile has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
