US country star Luke Combs confirmed as next year's Slane headliner

The gig will mark the venue’s 45th anniversary of live concerts.

AMERICAN COUNTRY MUSIC star Luke Combs has been officially announced as the next headliner for Slane Castle, set to perform at the historic Co Meath venue in the summer of 2026.

The confirmation follows a series of teaser videos posted on Slane Castle’s official Instagram account earlier this week, which featured snippets of Combs’ music and sparked widespread speculation among fans.

Concert organisers MCD Productions formally revealed the news today, ending weeks of rumours that Oasis might be making their long-awaited return to Slane.

Combs will be joined by a number of special guests, including Irish band The Script.

Other guest performers include young American country singer Ty Myers and country music trio The Castellows.

The gig will take place on the 18 July, with tickets going on sale next Friday at 10am.

Combs, from Asheville, North Carolina, is regarded as one of the most successful artists in contemporary country music.

A two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and multi-platinum recording artist, he recently became the first country performer to achieve three RIAA Diamond-certified singles, each surpassing ten million units sold.

His Grammy-nominated single Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma reached number one on US country radio earlier this year, extending his record to 53 cumulative weeks at the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

Combs is currently touring across the US and is expected to bring his full-scale stadium show to Ireland for the 2026 event.

His performance will include hits such as Beautiful Crazy, Beer Never Broke My Heart, and his acclaimed 2023 cover of Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car, which was named Song of the Year at the Country Music Awards.

The 2026 concert will mark 45 years of live music at Slane Castle, a venue that has hosted some of the world’s most iconic acts, including U2, Oasis, Bob Dylan, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, and Harry Styles, who last performed there in 2023.

The castle also recently played host to the hit RTÉ show The Traitors.

Further details about next year’s gig are expected to be announced by MCD Productions in the coming days.

Reports about the rumoured gig suggest a two-day event format may be under consideration for summer 2026, with speculation continuing about additional major acts.

In June, Lord Henry Mount Charles, who first brought large-scale rock concerts to his ancestral home at Slane Castle, passed away at the age of 74.
