Man (20s) arrested in connection with hit-and-run in Co Cavan last week

The incident, involving a car and a female pedestrian, happened on the L1513 at Drumlark in Loreto Wood last Tuesday.

A MAN HAS been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Co Cavan last week in which two people were injured. 

The incident happened on the L1513 at Drumlark in Loreto Wood shortly after 6.45pm on Tuesday, 17 February. 

A female pedestrian, who is aged in her 20s, was injured and taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot.

The passenger of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, was seriously injured and taken to Cavan General Hospital.

The arrested man, aged in his 20s, is currently detained at a garda station in the north western region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A garda spokesperson said that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
