Man (40s) in critical condition following serious assault in Dublin

The incident happened on Amiens Street in North Wall at around 2.35am on Saturday.

A MAN IN his 40s is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious assault in Dublin.

The incident happened on Amiens Street in North Wall at around 2.35am on Saturday.

The man was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where his condition is described as critical.

A technical examination was carried out at the scene.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of Amiens Street between 2.30am and 2.50am on Saturday, 28 March and who may have video footage, including dash-cam footage, is asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.

A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
