A MAN in his 70s has died from injuries sustained in a road accident outside Limerick city yesterday afternoon.
The man was injured when a car struck a 4×4 on the old main Dublin road at Lisnagry, around five kilometres outside Limerick city.
The deceased was taken to Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick city where he died overnight from his injuries.
A second man, 75, remains in the hospital in a critical condition. A third man, aged 48, has non-life threatening injuries.
The section of the road was briefly closed to facilitate forensic examinations, but has since reopened.
