A MAN HAS been arrested after gardaí removed him from a Ryanair flight destined for Dublin this afternoon.

The Ryanair flight left Faro in Portugal this morning and was due to arrive in Dublin earlier this afternoon.

However, the plane was forced to stop at Cork Airport due to a passenger’s behaviour on board.

A Ryanair spokesperson said crew aboard the flight called ahead for garda assistance after a passenger became disruptive onboard.

“The aircraft was met by police and this passenger was removed,” Ryanair said.

“Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly passenger behaviour, ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a respectful and stress-free environment, without unnecessary disruption.”

A garda spokesperson confirmed that a man in his 30s was arrested under the Air Navigation and Transport Act 2022 following an incident on board an aircraft that had been diverted to Cork Airport.

The man is currently detained at a garda station in Co Cork.

A spokesperson for Cork Airport said the flight continued on its journey to Dublin at 2:27pm.
