Man assaulted in Kildare last Sunday dies in hospital

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

A MAN WHO was assaulted in Kildare town in the early hours of Sunday morning has died in hospital. 

The man, aged in his 20s, was found unresponsive on McGee Terrace at approximately 3:15am.

He has since passed away in hospital, a Garda spokesperson said. 

The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course, the spokesperson said, adding that the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone with information about the incident to come forward. 

Any road users who were in the area between 2:00am and 4:00am and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
