Man in his 70s dies after being stuck by car on the N11 in south Dublin

Gardaí were alerted to the incident at about 6:45am yesterday evening.

GARDAÍ HAVE APPEALED for witnesses after a man in his 70s was killed in a road traffic in incident in south Dublin yesterday evening.

Gardaí were alerted to the incident at about 6:45pm yesterday evening on the N11, Foxrock, Dublin 18.

A man was hit by a car and pronounced dead at the scene. 

The coroner was notified and the man’s body was removed to Dublin City Mortuary where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

No other injuries were reported.

The scene was examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since reopened. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6.30pm and 7.00pm yesterday evening are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
