GARDAÍ HAVE APPEALED for help from the public to identify a man who was attacked near Temple Bar in Dublin in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The male, whose age is unknown, is being treated at Beaumont Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

Gardaí have issued details of a tattoo on the man that they hope will help identify him.

The tattoo is described as a blue and white flag with the words ‘Ceol is Beatha’, meaning ‘music and life’, a garda spokesperson said.

It’s believed the man was injured following an alleged assault that occurred at Cope Street in Dublin at approximately 12:30am Wednesday.

“Anyone who was in the area of Cope Street between midnight and 1:00am, and who may have any information about the incident is asked to contact investigating Gardaí,” the garda spokesperson said.

Anyone with camera footage – including mobile phone and dash-cam footage – is asked to make it available.

Gardaí can be contacted at Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
