THE MOBILE NETWORK Meteor has suffered a network outage this afternoon, leaving thousands without service.
The network was hit by the fault earlier this afternoon and says that they are working to resolve the issue.
In a posting on their forum, the network said:
“Due to an incident with one of our mobile sites some customers are experiencing issues with their calls, texts and data. This issue is also affecting the MyMeteor service so some of you may run into trouble logging in.”
“Tech support are working on this as we speak and full service will be returned as soon as possible.
“We’ll keep you posted here with updates or if you wish you can get in touch with us on our Twitter page @Meteor_Mobile.
“Thanks for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience.”
Have they tried turning it off and turning it back on again?
Tech support dealing with it. I’m sure they’re run off their feet in Mumbai worried about us.

Had no data, but no problem with phone signal, but all fine now!

I was told at 11.30 that it be back in a few minutes…..
At 11.30 I went into one of their shops and told me there wasn’t a problem as far as they were aware and gave me a new sim card.

Nope,I was with Vodafone for years and they are beyond abysmal and with customer care that is bordering on contempt.
I moved to Meteor about 5 years ago and any problems/queries have been dealt with in a professional and swift manner.
I am contacted on a regular basis to update me on tariffs and deals.
I had a problem with a handset and while it was off for repair I was given a loan of an identical handset at no cost.
Was it hacked by China?
I didn’t notice any change in my meteor service at all. I never get data and rarely get a decent signal. Same all day, every day.
