Each week, we step inside a reader’s home, and indulge in some copycat behaviour, creating a shopping list inspired by their interior style.
This week, Roisin Collins’ (@at58house) minimalist bedroom was our inspiration.
“We only moved into the house this February and went about updating things to our own tastes,” says Roisin. “Both of us are drawn to minimalist interiors but wanted some colour to bring a bit of warmth. We had the idea for a shelf above the bed with some art as a way to do that.”
Out came the watercolour paints and I recreated various abstract prints I had seen on Pinterest.
West Elm, Jysk and H&M were Roisin’s main ports of call when decorating this room. Below are six high-street products that’ll help you get the look in your own home…
1. Patterned cushion, €15, Ikea
The mix of colours in Roisin’s room complement each other beautifully. Add some patterned personality to your own space with this cushion.
2. Orange throw, €18, Argos
An orange or rust coloured blanket adds a warm feel to a neutral duvet.
3. Abstract print, €14.95, Desenio
Roisin created the print above her bed herself, but this one is pretty similar.
4. Italian print, €6.15, Etsy
This print is an exact match for Roisin’s and translates to ‘golden dreams’.
5. Tassel cushion, €19.99, H&M
Using cushions of different shapes, sizes and colours is an easy way change up plain bedding.
6. Black desk lamp, €34, Marks & Spencer
A black lamp on either side of the bed matches the colour scheme perfectly.
