Gardaí search for missing man, 40, last seen in Monaghan

Gerard Tierney, 40, is missing from Smitboro, Co Monaghan since 8pm August 29

GARDAÍ ARE ASKING the public for their help in tracing the whereabouts of Gerard Tierney.

The 40-year-old is missing from Smitboro, Co Monaghan since 8pm August 29 and was last seen in close proximity to Northern Ireland.

He is described as being approximately 5ft 6in inches tall of slight build with short fair hair.

Tierney was last seen wearing dark coloured trousers and a dark coloured polo shirt.

Anyone who has seen him or who can assist in locating him is asked to contact Monaghan Garda Station on 047-77200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
