#ENGLAND: Former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton has died at the age of 46. He was found dead at his home in Hyde.

IT’S BEEN A busy day in sport – particularly women’s sport – as Irish athletes competed in the quarter finals of the Rugby World Cup, the World Boxing Championships, and the World Athletics Championships.

Some of the highlights of today were Aoife O’Rourke winning gold at the World Boxing Championships, Sharlene Mawdsley advancing to the 400m semi-finals at the world Athletics Championships, and Fionnuala McCormack making the top 10 in women’s marathon at the WAC.
