Where animals are sick, injured or have been cruelly treated, we help them recover.
The DSPCA is over 180 years old and was established in Dublin’s Grand Canal Quay in the year 1840. We exist uniquely to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome sick, injured and cruelly treated animals.
The charity is situated in Rathfarnham, Dublin, on a 32-acre site dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of over 3,500 animals yearly, both domestic and wildlife.
We are committed to making it socially unacceptable to mistreat any animal. Our team of inspectors work closely with Government agencies and authorities to help strengthen the law on animal welfare in Ireland and influence decision making.
Our education department impacts over 150,000 people each year and focuses on promoting kindness and empathy towards animals.
The DSPCA Vet Team provides critical care and performs lifesaving surgeries for those animals that have suffered serious neglect or injuries.
It can take months of round the clock care from staff and volunteers to help these animals recover mentally and physically.
