Pedestrian hospitalised with serious injuries after being struck by car in Co Kilkenny

The woman is currently being treated at St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny.

A WOMAN IN her 30s has been hospitalised after she was struck by a car in Callan, Co Kilkenny yesterday evening.

The incident occurred shortly before 9pm on the N76 at Westcourt Demesne, Callan, Co. Kilkenny.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, and the woman, a pedestrian, was taken to hospital shortly after.

She is currently being treated at St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny.

The driver of the car was not injured in the incident.

A garda spokesperson confirmed that the road remains closed this morning, as gardaí conduct a forensic examination. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 8.45pm and 9.15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí,” a garda spokesperson said.
