Garda investigation launched after body of woman found in Clonmel

The discovery was made on Monday afternoon.

GARDAÍ HAVE LAUNCHED an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body near Clonmel, Co Tipperary, on Monday afternoon.

The body was found shortly before 3pm on 22 December in a rural area outside Clonmel town.

Gardaí said all circumstances surrounding the death are currently under investigation.

The scene remains preserved while members of the Garda Technical Bureau carry out a forensic examination.

The Office of the State Pathologist and the local coroner have been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

Gardaí said the results of the post-mortem will help determine the next steps in the investigation.
