Poll: What date would be best for Ireland to get another bank holiday?

Currently, Ireland lags behind other European countries when it comes to the number of bank holidays each year.

THE GREEN PARTY has called for Ireland to get another bank holiday.

Party leader Roderic O’Gorman has suggested either converting Good Friday from a public holiday into a full bank holiday or another option of creating a bank holiday after the first weekend of July “to allow people to have some time off over the summer”.

The Greens are not the only political party to call for more bank holidays.

Last year, People Before Profit called for the introduction of two extra bank holidays.

The party suggested dates for the last Monday in September and the last Monday in November.

Currently, Ireland lags behind other European countries when it comes to the number of bank holidays each year.

So, what do you think?
