Catherine Connolly, Heather Humphreys and Jim Gavin

Who should be the next President of Ireland?

Voters will take to the polls on Friday, 24 October.

THE RACE FOR the Áras has officially begun.

This year’s presidential election will see just three names on the ballot – the fewest number of candidates in 35 years.

Independent candidate Catherine Connolly, Fine Gael’s Heather Humphreys or Fianna Fáil’s Jim Gavin will be the next President of Ireland.

Over the next four weeks, the three candidates are expected to ramp up their campaigns ahead of voters taking to the polls on Friday, 24 October.

But before then, we want to know: Who do you think should be the next President of Ireland?

Poll Results:

Catherine Connolly (7749)
Heather Humphreys (4751)
I'm not sure yet/I'd rather not say (4549)
Jim Gavin (2369)
