THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a home in Palmerstown is just under €340,000, according to the latest figures from Daft.ie.
Analysis across all property types advertised between April and June of this year puts the average list price at €336,672.
This is on the low side for Dublin overall, putting Palmerstown at number 72 out of 117 neighbourhoods by price, or roughly on a par with Cabra and Kilmainham.
However, it’s the highest figure in this area of the city – higher than neighbouring Chapelizod (€304k) and significantly more than Ballyfermot to the south, where the average price drops to €221k.
In common with most areas of Dublin, prices in Palmerstown have been increasing steadily in recent years. A year previously the average was €314k, and a year before that it was €288k.
At the height of the Celtic Tiger, prices in the neighbourhood climbed to €448k before plummeting to an average of €199k during the recession.
