All three were arrested under the Terrorism Act and have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

DETECTIVES FROM THE PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch today arrested three people as part of a cross-border investigation into what it describes as “violent right-wing extremism”.

The cross-border investigation is being carried out with An Garda Síochána and the arrests follow previous searches in Co Down.

The PSNI today arrested a 38-year-old man in Ballynahinch, Co Down, a 40-year-old woman in Lurgan, Co Armagh, and a 48-year-old man in Kilkeel, Co Down.

All three were arrested under the Terrorism Act and have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite in Belfast for questioning.

It is understood the arrests are not linked to recent threats made to elected representatives in Newry, Mourne and Down.
