THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a home in Ringsend and Irishtown is now close to €400,000, according to the latest figures from Daft.ie.
Analysis of all properties advertised in the area in the first three months of 2018 puts the average list price at €395,823.
This is somewhat below the all-Dublin average of around €410,000. But given that the market in the area is dominated by two-bedroom homes, it is still on the steep side.
However, it is of course significantly below its neighbours in Dublin 4. The average price just down the road in Ballsbridge is €621,966 while in Sandymount it is a pearl-clutching €725,617.
Ringsend prices have been increasing steadily in recent years – up by roughly 9 per cent last year, and 10 per cent the year before.
Overall, they are up by more than 80 per cent since reaching their lowest point during the recession in 2012.
